【初三春节英语作文:The(Lunar及New及Year及作文900字)】The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, is the most important traditional holiday in China. It is a time for family reunions, cultural celebrations, and new beginnings. As a student in the third year of junior high school, I have experienced this festival many times, and each year it brings me a sense of joy and excitement.
The preparation for the Spring Festival usually starts a few weeks before the actual day. People clean their homes thoroughly to sweep away bad luck and make room for good fortune. Red decorations are hung everywhere, such as red couplets on doors and red lanterns hanging from rooftops. These colors symbolize happiness and prosperity. My family always takes part in these traditions. My mother and I spend hours cleaning the house together, while my father and grandfather put up red paper cuts and write lucky characters on the windows.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, the whole family gathers to have a big dinner. We eat a variety of delicious dishes, such as dumplings, fish, and rice cakes. Each dish has its own meaning. For example, dumplings represent wealth, and fish means "having more than enough" every year. After dinner, we watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV, which is a special program that brings people together. It includes music performances, comedy skits, and dance shows. This is one of my favorite parts because it makes me feel connected to the whole country.
The Lantern Festival marks the end of the Spring Festival celebrations. On this day, people light lanterns and eat sweet rice balls called "yuanxiao." The lanterns come in different shapes and sizes, and they are often made by hand. My classmates and I sometimes go to the park to see the beautiful lantern displays and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
As a student, I also learn about the history and customs of the Spring Festival in school. Our English teacher once asked us to write an essay about it, and that’s why I’m writing this one now. Through this process, I have learned more about the significance of the festival and how it reflects the values of family, tradition, and hope.
In conclusion, the Spring Festival is not just a holiday; it is a time to cherish family, remember our roots, and look forward to the future. Every year, I look forward to this special occasion with great excitement. I believe that no matter where I go in the future, the memories of the Spring Festival will always stay with me.
